Catching Up with Bash

 Bash has been away for too long, he's one of my favorite dolls I don't know what I was thinking storing him away in his box for so long.

I'm still mourning the thought of Iplehouse closing and not being able to get anymore of their dolls down the road. One of the things I loved, and that drew me to them the most was the maturity of their male EID sculpts. So many of the doll companies sculpt very young looking heads on incredibly mature ripped bodies. it was refreshing to me that Iple did a line of men, not boys with their EID line-up.

Leonard's sculpt is at the top of my favorites list, as I have more versions of him than any other sculpt. Rex, Lawrence and Luo follow very closely behind. I always thought I'd eventually get a Drake as well as Barron, as I really like both of those sculpts as well and I don't own either.

Who knows, maybe I'll change my stance before it's all over and cave to order one of them. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy the wonderful dolls I own.

The Majestic Dragon

 Even though Theron can no longer shift into his dragon, when he lets his horns out, he still strikes a pretty majestic appearance.

Since I got Theron on the human body, with both human and dragon heads, the wig that was ordered during the drop down box in his ordering period turned out to be the human head wig instead of the dragon one. This left me with no options for his dragon head since the horns prevent a normal wig from working on this head.

I messaged Jay at SJ and asked if there was any way I could purchase a dragon wig, and he graciously sold me a sample they had. He explained it was in black instead of the coloring of the normal release wig. The wig arrived a couple of days ago, and I really love it in black!

I love this dragon head with the horns so much. The paint is so well done on everything. I hope Jay will release more dragons eventually. I'd love to have a female as well.

The New Guy

Sharing my new guy here, as I think he is going to play a part in working with the Guardian team even if he isn't a Guardian himself. Theron is a dragon shifter and lives in another realm. His race was cursed by a very powerful witch, and doomed to no longer be able to shift. His people were cursed long ago to no longer fly in the sky or fully encompass their dragon sides. He has been tirelessly searching for a way to break the curse since. Theron still retains many of his dragon senses, and some of his dragon's characteristics but no longer has the ability to fully shift.

Many years ago, Theron's people decided to work with the HG in pursuit of information. They each scratch the other's back so to speak. The HG and their network keep their ears open for news of the witch or the further information that might help break the curse on Theron's people. In return, Theron, and those he trusts, keeps a pulse on information that might help the Guardians in their quest for justice. Many unsavory characters tend to try and flee to Theron's realm after reeking havic in pursuit of anonymity.

You will probably be seeing much more of Theron, as he has totally captivated me. I am most interested in trying to figure him out.

 

Bashira

 In the spirit of striving to photograph my bigger Iple dolls more in future, I got Bashira out for some new photos yesterday. 

My friend Lyn Raftis did many a face up for me back in the day, Bashira may well be one of my favorites of all she's done. The nuanced lips are simply amazing.

And she's the only Iple I have in this ebony resin color. Her mate Tariq, from the Iple Noctarcana Circus line is in a resin that was only used for his release, and he's the only other dark resin Iple I own.

Liana Again

 I know I shared Liana in this dress before, but I took some new photos against a better background so thought I would post these here as well.

Iplehouse really did some gorgeous dolls and outfits back in the day. This gorgeous outfit Lianna is wearing is from Iple. I was so sad to hear about them closing in 2027. They were the company that spurred my love for realistic resin BJD's. Iplehouse dolls probably make up the majority of my asian BJD collection as well.

I will cherish the dolls and outfits I have in my collection (and strive to photograph them more) moving forward.
